BATON ROUGE, La., Sept. 06, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Amedisys, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMED), one of the nation’s leading home healthcare, hospice and personal care companies, received an average rating of 4.38 Stars out of a possible 5 for Quality of Patient Care across its home health care centers from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) July Star Ratings release.

In the July release, 93 percent of Amedisys home health care centers earned 4 Stars or higher. This represents the 11th consecutive quarter of improvement in CMS Star Ratings.

“At our core, Amedisys is a company of caregivers with a commitment to excellent, quality care to each and every patient,” stated CEO and President Paul Kusserow. “We are well on our way to becoming the premier solution for those who want to age in place.”

Amedisys home health care centers are now rated 35 percent higher than the national average. According to the October 2018 Preview, the average rating for Amedisys will climb to 4.41 Stars with 94 percent of care centers earning at least 4 Stars.
